Hate-crimes in Scandinavia

 I was no where near Utøya. 

I was in Bergen,  Westcoast of Norway  watching TdF when the first vague reports of a bomb in Oslo came through. 

Immediately I logged on to my laptop searching through our websites for more information 

Then shootings at Utøya,  utter chaos, following strangers living near shouting for everyone to get in their boats, no sign of police. 

Had to switch to foreign newsagencies online, one laptop for that, TV on NRK waiting for news,  pad and phone searching for answers,  crying and screaming in agony. 

I had just spoken to some of the ones now being slaughtered.   Some of their parents were lifelong good friends and comrades.

How do I reach out to them in this extreme pain? How do I ask the horrific question about their children at Utøya?

I have to wait..

Numbers of confirmed dead ticking in, both from the bomb but mostly from Utøya. 

Several missing,  please all gods in the universe: let them live! 

Early hours the next day a boat with a film crew drove around the island.  Lots and lots of clusters of white bodybags, some lone ones too. 

At first I couldn't comprehend it was bodybags, it was just too many 

And then I got it.  

Each bag covered a slaughtered youth. 

I couldn't cry anymore   just sat watching it over and over 

And then I heard my nazi neighbour cheering outside...  and I completely lost it.

Walked down the stairs,  and out to the front of the house were he was pulling the flag to full mast, shouting to everyone in earshot how they all deserved it...

Had fully intended to beat the shite out of him, but seeing how frightened his wife looked I just set fire to his precious flag and returned inside.  

White supremacy is rampant in this country of mine.  I voted today, who else but the nazi party Alliansen- Alternative for Norway was at the top if the ballot...

We just don't talk about it, it's become a no-go area after 8 years of Conservative government. 

Our Conservative party won't do anything without our extremist far-right FRP 's approval.   FRP has prominent members in Nordic Resistance Movement,  SIAN and AfN ... 

PURE NAZIS are in the Norwegian government,  we are just not allowed to talk about that because of  "democracy "

PURE NAZIS are allowed everywhere on our streets,  we are just not allowed to mention that because of "democracy "

PURE NAZI rhetoric are spouted everywhere,  but we are not allowed to mention it because of  "democracy " 

People think we should have learned after Utøya.   WE DID

OUR GOVERNMENT DIDN'T
